Ukraine’s allies have started to form a ship coalition for Ukraine,
said Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov. According to him, it already includes three countries: The United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The UK has already handed over two minesweepers, on which Ukrainian crews are already officially present, and the flag of the Ukrainian Navy has been raised. The Netherlands will also provide two Alkmaar mine detectors to Ukraine. The equipment, including radar systems for detecting drones and M3 bridge systems, will be purchased directly from suppliers and transferred to Ukraine, said the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajsa Ollongren. It is expected that the transfer of equipment will take place in 2025. Training of Ukrainian crews will begin in the second half of 2023. The Netherlands is undertaking this task together with Belgium and possibly other allies.
