US support for Ukraine is subject to changes, approval is expected by April 22.
Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, said that after the end of the Easter vacation, he plans to submit for consideration a bill on additional aid to Ukraine, which will include “some important innovations.”
Among these innovations are the provision of credit assistance to Ukraine and a law pertaining to confiscating the Russian Federation’s frozen assets, which would give the president the right to seize the aggressor state’s sovereign assets and transfer them to Ukraine.
The statements came after Johnson made it clear he would push the legislation to fund Ukraine through the House, but he has not yet decided what exactly the package will look like.
The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner, has been assured that the vast majority of Congress will approve additional funding for Ukraine. He hopes that this will happen before Congress goes on a week-long recess beginning April 22.
