Ukrainian farmers recorded increased production in almost all agricultural sectors despite the war.

However, it is noted that Ukrainian agriculture has not yet recovered to 2021’s level.I In 2023, Ukraine’s grain production will be 60.8 million tons, 10% more than the previous year. Production of oilseeds increased by 18% to 20.7 million tons, but this is 10% less than in 2021.

In 2023, sugar beet production increased to 11.7 million tons, 29% more than in 2022. This indicator slightly exceeded the pre-war volume, but only because sugar beet is not grown in the occupied territories or territories experiencing hostilities.

Meat production increased by 3% to 3.1 million tons. At the same time, production volumes remain 9% less than the 2021 figure. It is noted that the 2023’s milk production indicators continue to fall. 7.5 million tons of milk were produced, 2% less than last year. The situation is similar with chicken eggs. In 2023, farmers produced 5% less product than last year.
