Ukrainian exports increase to a record level of more than 13 million tons monthly.

Economy Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko noted that last month’s exports amounted to more than 13 million tons, surpassing the indicators from February 2022 and reaching $3.3B. April exports are the largest since the large-scale invasion by the Russian Federation into Ukraine, exceeding March figures by 1.3 million tons.

“We continue to work on increasing the volume of exports, primarily non-raw materials. Together with the increase in production volumes and the attraction of investments, this will contribute to the development of the economy,” the minister said.

It is noted that the growth of export indicators was influenced by the opening of an alternative sea corridor in the summer of 2023, which allows Ukraine to export grain and metal. In addition, the UNITY ship insurance program, created jointly with the British government and a pool of insurance companies, has also helped significantly.

Positive factors include the increased capacity of the Solidarity Lanes program, primarily with Moldova and Romania, as well as improved conditions for transporting goods by rail to the Danube ports.
