Ukrainian banks increased their profits by 22%, with one of them accounting for 40% of the total amount.

The total profit generated by Ukrainian banks for the first seven months of the year is ₴119.44B, which is 22% more than in the same period last year. Along with earnings, income tax increased by 80% to ₴25.83B. Despite the increased tax, the net profit recorded is 13% more than last year in the amount of ₴93.61B. 63% of the total bank profit belongs to state banks.

PrivatBank holds its typical position in the lead: ₴37.16B in profit after tax, 40% of the total profit earned by all banks in the country. Banks with foreign capital earned 9% more than in the same period last year, ₴21.4B. The aggregate profit of banks with private capital increased by 29% to ₴13.39B. Currently, this group accounts for 14% of aggregate bank profit.

MTB Bank showed the most significant increase in profit among banks, jumping by 1,200%, to ₴539.8M.

Currently, 62 banks operate in Ukraine, eight of which suffered losses.
