Ukraine’s special forces are being trained in the UK for the Crimean invasion.

The Crimea operation will involve air, land, and sea strikes with Ukrainian commandos using technology to undermine and paralyze Russian troops. More than 2,000 soldiers have arrived at a remote Dartmoor location to participate in specialist exercises. Elsewhere, armored units will punch through defenses, with operations supported by a new stock of long-range missiles supplied from the UK, US, and Germany.

The training is being carried out at Battle Camp in Okehampton, Devon, which has been closed to all other military units and members of the public. Sources say they will form the spear’s tip in an invasion while two other forces mount concurrent attacks.

On Saturday night, Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov confirmed forces would enter Crimea “soon”. On Saturday night, one senior UK military source said the emphasis was being placed on using agile NATO tactics to help Ukrainian troops “shape the battle space” before striking at the heart of the enemy.
