Ukraine’s allies provide more support for energy infrastructure and agriculture.
USAID and the Energy Community Secretariat signed an agreement on the US’ €23M grant contribution to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. Germany also plans to provide €300M to help Ukraine’s energy sector. The funds have been allocated for Ukrenergo to support the repair and modernization of its networks.
“State company Ukrenergo is one of the main beneficiaries of our €200M contribution to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine“, said German Ambassador Martin Jäger.
Germany has already provided more than €625M to support Ukraine’s energy system. The total contributions to the Ukraine Energy Fund from sponsors are more than €329M.
In addition, Austria has decided to provide a second grant of €10M through the World Bank URTF Trust Fund to restore infrastructure.
And the WB will allocate $700M to support and restore the agricultural sector. The project is planned for 2023-2024 and provides support for preferential lending and grants to small agricultural producers.
