Ukraine will start issuing electronic prescriptions for antibiotics.

 Beginning in August, patients in Ukraine will start receiving electronic prescriptions for purchasing antibiotics, reported the Ukraine Ministry of Health. The ministry notes that regulating the dispensing of antibiotics through the introduction of an electronic prescription is one of the solutions that will allow data monitoring on the appointment and volume of antibiotic use in Ukraine. The innovation will start working within the transition period in medical institutions working with the electronic health care system (EHS). An electronic prescription can be obtained from any doctor, regardless of the presence of a declaration from a family doctor. Still, registration in the electronic health care system will be required.
