Ukraine will receive two grants worth $8.6B from the US and other donors.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the involvement of a budget support grant from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for $2.665B. The US provided part of the grant funds, $2.5B, and another $165M came from Germany, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, and Iceland. The funds will be used for pension payments and separate state social assistance programs, such as payment for housing and communal services, support for low-income families, disabled children and those disabled from childhood, IDPs, and payment of medical services under the medical guarantee program, etc. The US is also providing Ukraine with a $6B grant for social programs, education, and medicine, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. He clarified that the grant will be delivered through a donor fund administered by the IBRD and the International Development Association.
