Ukraine will develop fast logistics in the Western direction.

As Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated, the government has set three essential tasks to improve operations on the Ukrainian-European border. The first is the development of border infrastructure. In particular, the refers to networks of automobile checkpoints. Currently, there are 21 of them operating on the EU border with Ukraine. Three of them were opened during the war. The plan includes the creation of nine more checkpoints and the modernization of another thirteen.

According to Shmyhal, the second task is joint customs and border control with EU countries. That is, there will be one checkpoint where representatives from both states will work. This offers greater integration into the European space, speeds up logistics, and minimizes corruption.

The third task is to continue the implementation of the customs visa-free status with EU countries. In ten months of visa-free operation, 15,000 round-trip transit declarations have already been issued. In the future, it is planned to transfer customs to new software that will meet European standards.
