Ukraine will begin the privatization of bread factories and distilleries.
The resumption of the privatization process, which is planned for September, will start with bread factories and distilleries, announced the State Property Fund. Currently, there are about 200 objects ready for privatization. All these objects are attractive to investors because they are located in Western Ukraine and regions with no active hostilities. Moreover, most of the state properties set for privatization are not currently functioning and are subsidized by the government. In addition, these factories can help store and process farm products, which is critically important for the country. The State Property fund director, Olga Batova, added that if the entire regulatory framework is adopted by September and active auctions start as early as September 1, the state budget can expect to receive UAH 1B this year.
