Ukraine will become an affiliated member of the European standardization committees.
Ukraine is quickening the implementation of the Agreement on Access of Ukrainian Goods to the EU Market. By the end of the year, the country will be able to adopt about 26,000 European standards. Experts from the Ukrainian Research and Training Center for Problems of Standardization, Certification, and Quality and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), and the European Committee for Standardization in Electrical Engineering (CENELEC) agreed with this move, the Ministry of Economy noted. At the same time, Ukraine was exempted from paying membership fees until the end of 2022 and in 2023 for CENELEC. In addition, Ukraine’s status in CEN-CENELEC will change from a companion organization to an affiliated member status starting January 1, 2023.
