Ukraine receives Storm Shadow cruise missiles and all of the promised Challenger 2 tanks from the UK.
The delivery of long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles will allow Ukraine’s Armed Forces to hit the Russian occupation forces at a distance of up to 250 km.
Senior US officials say that the UK has received assurances from the Ukrainian government that these missiles will only be used within the sovereign territory of Ukraine and not to strike inside Russia. British officials have often made public statements in which they refer to Crimea as a sovereign territory of Ukraine, describing it as “illegally annexed”.
The Storm Shadow is a long-range cruise missile co-developed by the United Kingdom and France that is usually launched from the air at a distance of up to 250 km (155 miles). This is slightly less than the 185-mile range capability of US-made tactical surface-to-surface missile systems (ATACMS). The current maximum range of weapons provided to Ukraine by the US is about 49 miles.
Moreover, The UK has confirmed that all the promised Challenger 2 tanks are now on Ukrainian territory.
