Ukraine reacted harshly to NATO’s provocative statement regarding territorial concessions.

After NATO official Stian Jensen suggested that Ukraine could gain NATO membership and end the war in exchange for ceding territory to Russia, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukraine would not give away its lands for membership in the Alliance.

Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament, Davyd Arahamia, emphasized that such conversations only encourage aggression. Moscow likes this idea because it legitimizes wars of aggression and undermines international law. Arahamia also emphasized that giving up the territories does not mean the war’s end.

Adviser to the head of the President’s Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that attempts to preserve world order and establish a “bad peace” through Putin’s triumph will not bring peace to the world but will bring shame and further war.
