Ukraine’s metallurgical losses from the Russian war are 30-40% of their pre-war capacity, as stated by the General Director of Metinvest, Yuri Ryzhenkov. “Mariupol’s metallurgical plants alone have more than a third of Ukraine’s steel production,” he said. However, Ryzhenkov is confident that the Mariupol plants will be rebuilt after Russian troops are expelled from Ukraine.
