Ukraine initiates consultations with the UN Security Council on ensuring Ukraine’s security under the Budapest Memorandum.

 The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, stated that he has asked the UN Security Council member states to immediately discuss the issues of de-escalation and guaranteeing Ukraine’s security, based on the provisions of the Budapest Memorandum. “At the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky, I have officially asked the UN Security Council member states to hold immediate consultations under Article 6 of the Budapest Memorandum to discuss urgent de-escalation actions and practical steps to ensure Ukraine’s security,” said Minister Kuleba.
