According to the results from metallurgical enterprises in December 2021, Ukraine increased steel production by 3.6% compared to the same period in 2020, holding 14th place in the ranking of 64 major world producers of these products, according to Worldsteel. In 2021, Ukraine’s steel production amounted to 21.4 million tons compared to 20.6 million tons in 2020. In December 2021, an increase in steelmaking was recorded over December 2020 in the top ten countries except for China, Turkey, and Brazil. In December, Russia maintained production at the December 2020 level. The top 5 steel producers are China, India, Japan, the US, and Russia.
