Ukraine has developed a methodology for determining business losses due to war.
The Ministry of Economy, together with the State Property Fund, completed the development of a methodology for determining the losses suffered by enterprises as a result of the Russian Federation’s military aggression, the ministry reported. Independent experts will perform a damage assessment based on initial data from the enterprise’s documents, which contain the property characteristics, the results of a damage inspection of affected objects (or photo, video materials, satellite images), as well as an assessment based on market value data for similar properties. Damages determined according to this methodology can be used to initiate criminal proceedings against the aggressor, submit claims for victim compensation, and in lawsuits before international courts, the Ministry of Economy noted.
