Ukraine needs to build about 200 solid waste processing facilities, said Minister of Environmental Protection Ruslan Strelets. The minister clarified that these are not waste incineration plants, but those that utilize both the hierarchy principle of waste management and the circular economy principle. The last step is to secure funding. Strelets emphasized that with the adoption of the law on waste management, Ukraine has opened its borders to foreign investors. “We are already communicating through the embassies of various countries the fact that Ukraine is open on this issue,” the minister noted. According to the official, the ministry is already engaged with multiple interested parties on a variety of projects.
