Ukraine has accumulated 10 billion cubic meters of gas to get through the winter season; Russian strikes will not affect the injection rate.

More than 10 billion cubic meters of gas have already been stored in Ukrainian underground storage facilities in preparation for the heating season. This pace of gas accumulation makes it possible to optimistically predict the implementation of the government’s plan, namely 13.2 billion cubic meters by November 1. Since the beginning of the season, Ukraine has pumped more than 2.5 billion cubic meters of blue fuel.

Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, Oleksiy Chernyshov, stated: “Since the first day of the Russian invasion, the underground gas storage facilities of the Naftogaz Group have been under the constant drone and missile attacks. However, this will not affect the steady passage of the heating season and the gas injection and storage process, which we need for the 2024/2025 season.”

He emphasized that the company has recovery plans in case of attacks and equipment stocks for replacement.

Also, Naftogaz has made its $224M in Eurobond payments under the restructured schedule, which is a positive signal for investors.
