Ukraine feeds the world at too low a cost; export earnings in March amounted to $2B.
In March, agricultural exports brought $1.318B in trade balance and $2B in export earnings.
According to Infoindustry: “If we look at the average price of export products and the average price of imported products, we begin to understand that we are not just feeding people in other countries, but also allowing them to earn”.
The cost of one ton of agricultural products supplied by a Ukrainian company to Turkey in March was $214 per ton, while Ukraine imported agricultural products from the same country at an average price of $1,519 per ton. It is noted that China is among the top 10 agricultural suppliers in Ukraine, with similar statistics.
“Of course, the export structure is very diverse and depends on what is grown in these countries, but our neighbors, the Poles and Turks, have never refused to process Ukrainian agricultural products,” experts say.
It is possible and even necessary to increase the added value and the price of agricultural exports.
