The WB, within the framework of the Acceleration of Private Investments in the Agriculture of Ukraine program, which began in 2019 with a total volume of $200M, will allow the use of the remaining $132M to improve farmers’ access to financing through the 5-7-9% program and partial loan guarantees for small farms and horticulture support.
The restructured program is expected to complement UN, EU, and USAID activities to support the recovery of Ukraine’s agricultural sector. In particular, it will contribute to the Initiative for the Sustainable Development of Agriculture in Ukraine, launched by USAID in early August 2022. The goal is to mobilize $250M in funding.
The WB most recently allocated $31M to Ukraine under this program in April 2022.
