The US Senate has presented a $111B bill that would provide aid to Ukraine and Israel, and strengthen the Mexican border.
Senate Democrats unveiled a national security package worth about $111B, which includes assistance to Ukraine and Israel, as well as measures aimed at protecting the southern border of the US.
More than $15B is earmarked for Ukraine’s support, including “military training, exchange of intelligence,” and “strengthening of the presence in the area of responsibility of the European Command.” The document also provides for $10.6B in aid to Israel. Another $43.6B should be directed to expanding the US’s production capacity for weapons and ammunition and also be invested in the American submarine industrial base.
At the same time, Republicans demand that the decision to provide aid to Ukraine and Israel include changes aimed at strengthening the security of the US border with Mexico.
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the US would be “responsible for the defeat of Ukraine” if Congress did not approve the funding.
At the same time, President Joe Biden called the inability to support Ukraine madness and believes that it is against the interests of the US.
In addition, The Pentagon clarified that they have another $6B for military aid to Ukraine.
