The US has approved Bridget Brink as Ambassador to Ukraine.
The US Senate unanimously approved diplomat Bridget Brink as the United States ambassador to Ukraine on Wednesday night. “Having an ambassador there at this critical time when the United States continues to help the Ukrainian people is a wonderful thing, a good thing, and will help promote peace, security, and freedom. I am confident she will be an outstanding ambassador,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Sumer. The decision was made the same day as the US officially reopened its embassy in Kyiv. Brink has held several positions in the diplomatic corps, including as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the State Department’s Bureau for Europe and Eurasia. She speaks Russian and has worked at US embassies in Serbia, Cyprus, Georgia, and Uzbekistan.
