The Swiss parliament proposes the allocation of more than €5B for Ukraine.

The Committee on Foreign Policy of the National Council of Switzerland has proposed to the Federal Council to submit to the parliament a program of support for Ukraine in the amount of at least 5B Swiss francs.

Most committee members expressed their conviction that Ukraine needs significant financial support, particularly for providing humanitarian aid, protecting the civilian population, demining, peacebuilding, and strengthening civil infrastructure.

The long-standing tradition of Swiss neutrality became the subject of criticism after the beginning of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and European countries have called on the nation to provide assistance with ammunition and to allow the re-export of equipment with Swiss spare parts.
