The share of businesses in Ukraine that expect growth in production and export is growing.

According to the monthly survey of enterprises by the Institute of Economic Research, 38.2% of respondents expect an increase in production (against 35.7% in July) in the next three to four months. Export growth is expected to be 32.3% (31.8% in August). Businesses’ assessment of general economic uncertainty decreased from 28% to 21% from a six-month perspective, and the uncertainty regarding the financial and economic situation also reduced slightly.

At the same time, 32.5% of respondents could not give answers regarding plans for the next two years, compared to 30% in July. The business recovery index continued to decline, falling from 0.13 to 0.08.

According to the study, power outages remain the main obstacle to doing business, although the rating dropped from 78% in July to 65% in August. Among the top five obstacles for businesses remain the lack of labor and the price increase for raw materials and goods. In addition, 72% of respondents negatively assessed the government’s idea to raise taxes.
