The power supply to the Chernobyl NPP has been restored.

The power supply has been reconnected at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and now the cooling systems for the spent nuclear fuel assemblies will work normally and not be reliant upon the reserve power supply. “Today, thanks to the incredible efforts of Ukrenergo personnel, our nuclear specialists and electricians have managed to return the power supply to the Chernobyl NPP, which the Russian occupants had seized, said Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko. Now the cooling systems of the spent nuclear assemblies will work again work normally, and do not have to rely on backup power,” the minister said.
