The NBU has received a second international Central Banking Award.
Ukraine’s central bank received recognition for Initiative in the field of payment and market infrastructure for its work in developing the state remote identification system, BankID. The system provides Ukrainian citizens stable and uninterrupted access to important state and financial services.
Currently, the NBU BankID System has 130 participants. This includes 39 ID banks and 91 service provider subscribers. About 100,000 successful electronic identifications occur daily in the system (32.8 million in 2022, which is 9% more than in 2021).
Moving toward European integration, within the framework of legislative changes in the field of trust services and electronic identification, the NBU is studying the issue of recognizing the BankID System as an electronic identification scheme. In the long run, the remote identification system will allow Ukrainians to receive remote services within the EU.
