The NATO Parliamentary Assembly urges member countries to provide Ukraine with missiles possessing ranges of 1,000-5,500 kilometers and admission to the Alliance.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution calling on the governments of the Alliance member states to provide Ukraine with medium-range missiles as a deterrent and weapon of self-defense. These include cruise missiles with a range of 1,000-5,500 kilometers, such as the Tomahawk, that can strike the enemy’s strategic depth.

This resolution will be the first step toward creating a legal basis and establishing grounds for the NATO states’ governments to adopt a corresponding decision, as was done with permitting strikes with Western weapons deep into Russia.

The assembly also called on the NATO member states to increase their efforts to help Ukraine receive an invitation to become the 33rd member of the Alliance. The resolution also draws attention to the need to increase military, financial, and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine.

In addition, the document calls for increased sanctions pressure on Russia and North Korea “to increase the price for their cooperation in aggression against Ukraine.”
