The mining and metallurgical giant Metinvest reduced steel production by 69% last year.
According to 2022’s results, the metallurgical group Metinvest reduced the production of finished products by 62% to 2.777 million tons and steel smelting by 69% to 2.9 million tons compared to the previous year, the company reported. Pig iron production decreased by 72% to 2.74 million tons, and coke production by 64% to 1.653 million tons. The output of commercial semi-finished products decreased by 70% to 1.02 million tons. The production of flat products decreased by 4.247 million tons, to 1.731 million tons, due to the shutdown of the Mariupol factories occupied by Russian troops and the lack of stable supplies of slabs. The production of long-rolled products decreased by 71,000 tons to 1.018 million tons due to the stoppage of production at Azovstal and the reduction in output at Promet Steel.
