The International Criminal Court will join the investigation of Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

The prosecutors general of Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine have signed an agreement on the court’s first-ever participation in the investigation team, said ICC prosecutor Karim Khan. “With this agreement, the parties are sending a clear signal that every effort will be made to gather evidence of major international crimes committed in Ukraine and bring the perpetrators to justice,” said the ICC prosecutor. Last month, Karim Khan launched an investigation into possible war crimes committed by Russian troops.
