The head of the Munich conference calls for fighter jets for Ukraine.
The head of the Munich Security Conference, Christoph Heusgen, said that Ukraine’s partner countries need to stop drawing “red lines” regarding the transfer of the military assistance it needs regarding the provision of combat aircraft. He justified his position with the words of military experts who say that in waging war like this, a combination of several types of weapons is necessary: tanks are needed, artillery is needed, and fighters are needed both for defense and to reach the targets that are not available through artillery. At the same time, Heusgen recognized the presence of a certain fatigue from the war in Ukraine in Western society. He emphasized that the West needs to show leadership to overcome this trend. Heusgen emphasized that if Putin wins this war, everything will not end in Ukraine. The next target will be Moldova and the Baltic states.
