The government wants to undertake compulsory acquisition of land for road construction.

The Prime Minister, Denis Shmygal, proposed to allow the compulsory acquisition of land plots from their owners in case of public need for the construction of roads and other road infrastructure, according to the website of the Ukrainian parliament. The decision to choose a land plot is based on public necessity, and the importance of upgrading infrastructure including roads, bridges, overpasses, and other facilities.
