The German arms giant, Rheinmetall, will open production in Ukraine.
The arms concern plans to produce tanks, air defense systems, anti-aircraft systems, and ammunition in Ukraine, said Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger.
He clarified that work is underway to conclude several cooperation agreements and to create joint ventures with Ukrainian companies in the coming weeks. He clarified that the Ukrainian state will become an investor in new factories. The head of the German concern discussed the plan to build Panther-type battle tanks in Ukraine.
“Just as the Lynx infantry fighting vehicle is built in a factory in Hungary, our newly developed Panther main battle tank can roll off the assembly line in a Ukrainian factory based on a comparable model,” noted Papperger. Rheinmetall emphasized that for the next ten years, the demand for weapons from Ukraine will be very high.
