The EU runs €90M worth of projects to help businesses operating in Ukraine, and the World Bank will join the program to provide affordable housing.

As the EU Delegation to Ukraine reported, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, support for the Ukrainian economy from the EU has focused on helping small and medium-sized enterprises. Within the framework of the EU4Business program, from February 2022 to December 2023, the bloc provided more than 1,100 grants totaling €5.5M and allocated €7M for direct grant assistance.

Currently, 15 bilateral EU projects are aimed at helping businesses, with a total budget of over €92M. Ukraine is also included in several pan-European programs offering business opportunities – Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, Digital Europe, and the Single Market Program. This Ukraine-Ready4EU initiative became operational in 2023 with a total budget of €7.5M, which includes two grant competitions.

Meanwhile, the government of Ukraine and the World Bank have started work on creating a road map for the creation of the Program for Providing Ukrainians with Affordable Housing.
