The EU is preparing for a possible halt of gas supply from Russia.

The European Union stands ready to cooperate with the United States, Qatar, and Azerbaijan on gas supply if Russia decides to cut or suspend supplies to the EU, said European Foreign Minister Josep Borrell. He also added that the EU has made progress in preparing highly effective measures in response to further Russian aggression against Ukraine, “which will cause serious damage to the Russian economy and financial system.” One of these measures is export control that would have a long-term effect, as they would limit Russia in its ability to procure the products it needs to realize its strategic ambitions.
