The Council of the EU agreed to allocate €1B to purchase artillery shells and, if necessary, missiles for Ukraine under the European Peace Facility.
It is noted that these funds will finance the provision of 155 mm caliber artillery shells and, if necessary, missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which the EU member will jointly purchase states from the European defense industry.
“Along with the previous decision to quickly supply ammunition from existing stocks, we allocate €2B for these goals, bringing the total amount of EU military support to Ukraine to €5.6B”, EU High Representative Josep Borrell commented on the decision.
