The EU has approved a plan to supply Ukraine with ammunition worth €2B.

This decision was made by the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the EU, reports AFP. The plan provides for the allocation of €1B from the European Peace Fund and an additional €1B for the joint procurement of ammunition. This should accelerate and increase the supply of projectiles, which, as emphasized in Kyiv, are urgently needed in the fight against Russia. After signing the agreement, the first orders, according to the plan, can be placed by the end of May.

According to the chief diplomat of the EU, Josep Borrell, Ukraine will receive one million rounds of artillery within the next 12 months.

The head of the German Foreign Ministry, Annalena Baerbock, noted that Europe should establish production sufficient for the joint supply of ammunition.

Before that, at the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the EU member states, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, emphasized that Ukraine’s most pressing need is artillery ammunition.
