The Epicentr hypermarket chain is planning to expand its grocery division.

Currently, the Food Market chain within the Epicentr group of companies operates 26 retail outlets.
“Unfortunately, part of the Food Market network was lost in shopping centers that were destroyed due to hostilities,” said Oleh Shkarovsky, Epicentr’s top manager.
According to him, four new Food Market locations opened in 2024: three in the Kyiv region and one in Chernihiv. This year, five new Food Markets are planned to open in various regions of Ukraine, although there may be more if the security and economic situation allows.
“We are constantly experimenting. Today, we have small-sized stores with a basic product selection. However, the most successful are full-fledged grocery gastromarkets with a wide range of products, optimally sized at 2,800-3,200 square meters,” Shkarovsky stated.
In parallel, the group of companies continues to develop its Epicentr Express stores: in some of these locations, the food category occupies up to 50% of business and has potential for further growth.
The top manager mentioned that currently Epicentr is not considering expanding the Food Market project beyond its own shopping centers.
