The destruction of the Kakhovka HPP has caused UAH 146B in environmental damage.

According to the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Ruslan Strilets, the Russian detonation of the dam in the Kherson region has caused UAH 146B ($4B) in damage. “However, the full amount of damage caused to Ukraine’s environment by the war is difficult to calculate due to the impossibility of collecting all the data,” Strelets emphasized.

Also, according to a KSE analysis, the losses incurred by the Kakhovskaya HPP tragedy include: housing losses of $950M, energy losses of $624M, damages to the transport infrastructure amounting to $311M, and agricultural losses of $25M.
