Scholz is under pressure for the lack of heavy weapon supplies to Ukraine.
The head of the Bundestag’s defense committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, once again criticized Chancellor Olaf Scholz and asked him to commit to supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine. “The chancellor is still not saying what he wants, and I am very sorry about that,” said the member of the Free Democratic Party, which is part of the ruling coalition. “I just think we don’t have time for discussions. It’s about Ukraine, but it’s also about us in Europe,” Strack-Zimmerman said. Strack-Zimmermann continued, saying that she was pleased that Scholz had expressed a desire to give Ukraine more money, but “you can’t win the war with money; you need weapons.”
