Russian bloggers do not believe in the new offensive’s success.
Ukraine is actively discussing a potential new Russian offensive dedicated to the invasion’s first anniversary. One of Putin’s goals is to achieve gains on the front before Ukraine receives Western tanks and the spring rains begin. However, Russian bloggers and propagandists doubt the success of this offensive even before it begins, says the Institute for the Study of War. Thus, a blogger associated with the Wagner Group noted that the Chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, who currently commands Russian troops in Ukraine, has a limited time frame to launch an offensive in Ukraine before it becomes absolutely impossible. And the Russian ultranationalist, terrorist Igor Girkin predicted that the Russian offensive would not be successful until Russia mobilized more labor, industry, and economy. Without such mobilization, any attack will soon find defeat.
