The statement was made by the president’s adviser, Ihor Zhovkva, at a briefing on Tuesday. He added that regarding the €8B, “Unfortunately, certain states of the European Union, in particular Germany, are still blocking consideration of this issue, and the president of Ukraine is conducting active negotiations with its partners.” Earlier, during a telephone conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked French President Emmanuel Macron to assist in unblocking macro-financial assistance that is to be provided by the EU. Arianna Podesta, a European Commission representative, said that the EU currently does not have the funds to provide the second tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €8B.
