Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that his government has agreed to provide Ukraine with a $7.2B aid package over the next five years. According to the prime minister, this year, it is proposed to divide this money equally – 50% for military aid and 50% for civilian assistance. Norway plans to use the income from the sale of energy resources to provide crisis assistance. The Norwegian parliament is expected to approve the government’s decision on the Ukrainian aid package on February 24. This aid program to Ukraine in Norway was called the “Nansen program” in honor of the 100th anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Fritjof Nansen.
