Nestlé has launched vermicelli production in Volyn with a $50M investment, with 75% of production planned for export to the EU.

In the village of Smolyhiv, Volyn region, the Swiss multinational conglomerate has established a new factory, completing an investment project. The first production line became operational after two years of preparation, following an investment of CHF 40M ($50M). The initial capacity will reach 5,000 tons of vermicelli annually by the end of 2025. Over the next two years, the company plans to launch additional production lines.

This is Nestlé’s fourth factory in Ukraine and the second in Volyn, located next to the existing plant in Torchyn. The factory concentrates mainly on export, supplying 75% of its products to EU countries. Key ingredients, such as wheat and sunflower oil, are sourced from Ukraine. The new facility has already created over 300 jobs, with potential for employment to grow to 1,500 as new lines are added. The new production facility is expected to boost local tax revenue.

Despite the ongoing war, the opening of this factory in Volyn remains one of the largest recent investments in the Ukrainian food sector.
