Natural gas prices on the Ukraine Energy Exchange decreased by 13.3% last week.
The starting prices of natural gas on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEE) fell by 13.32% during the week of February 14-18. On February 14, the starting price of the resource was UAH 36,400 per 1 thousand cubic meters, and on February 18, UAH 33,000 per 1 thousand cubic meters. Also, the majority of natural gas prices in Europe showed a decrease due to the forecasts of moderate temperatures and an increase in the supply of liquefied natural gas to the EU. However, the difficult geopolitical situation contributed to the recovery of prices by the end of the week due to fears of supply disruptions. In February, quotes averaged between $800 and $1,000 per thousand cubic meters, and after February 15, for the first time in 1.5 months, fell below $800 amid easing geopolitical fears before rising again to almost $900.
