Naftogaz reaches agreements on gas storage in Ukraine with German, Norwegian and French companies; more than 200 traders are already using these services.
The head of the Naftogaz group, Oleksiy Chernyshov, said that Ukraine is negotiating with German company RWE, Norwegian Equinor, and French TotalEnergies and Engie. Chernyshov also clarified that, so far, no foreign company that has been storing gas in Ukraine has changed its mind about using these services despite recent Russian attacks on gas infrastructure.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy stated that more than 200 European traders use Ukrainian gas transport infrastructure annually, their number continues to grow, and the available infrastructure allows Ukraine to build a highly liquid gas market.
One of the important principles of forming a new market model in Europe should be the diversification of natural gas supply directions to prevent the repetition of price manipulations, as the Russian Federation once did, using its monopoly position on the European market.
