Germany will help Ukraine to create an analog of its recovery bank and has increased interest in the Ukrainian energy market.

The German government approved a set of measures to support the reconstruction of Ukraine. One of them is the creation of an analog of the German reconstruction bank KfW, based on the Entrepreneurship Development Fund. The main focus of the German government is on financial subsidies and interest compensation for small and medium-sized companies in Ukraine and investment guarantees for German companies.

At the same time, the state-owned German company Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE), a former Gazprom subsidiary nationalized by Germany, has increased interest in working in Ukraine. It is noted that SEFE stored part of its gas in Ukraine during the last heating season and is now thinking about the possibility of resuming the injection process and weighing the war risks.

“We want to be present in Ukraine a little more than usual because, after the war, Ukraine will be one of the key countries in the energy of Europe”.
