Most of Ukraine’s generating capacities have been restored, but a significant electricity deficit remains.
As of the beginning of the week, Ukrainian energy workers restored most of the generating capacities in the country’s energy system. However, the destruction caused by the Russian missile attack on December 5 still does not allow the TPP to operate at its fullest extent, said the head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, in a statement. However, the company expects that new power units from the TPP will be connected to the network this week. According to the company, as of December 12, there was a significant power deficit in the power system. “Ukrenergo, generation, and Oblenergo teams are working together to eliminate the damage from the Russian attacks and its consequences. However, due to the complexity of the damage, the work is taking longer and is complicated by bad weather,” the company noted.
