Military aid for Ukraine is on the agenda for US government officials’ visit to Germany and the Netherlands.
US Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military Affairs Jessica Lewis will visit the Netherlands and Germany on March 13-18 to discuss military assistance to Ukraine with the US’ allies and partners, as well as security cooperation and trade in defense equipment to strengthen regional and global security, reported the US State Department. In addition, Lewis will thank the Netherlands for the more than $1B in military aid they have already provided to Ukraine and the $2.5B they have allocated for 2023. The assistant secretary of state in Germany will visit the US European Command in Stuttgart on March 15-18 to consult with senior civilian and military officials. Last week, Joe Biden presented a US budget proposal for the next fiscal year, including the allocation of more than $6B for further military support for Ukraine and the EU allies.
